WALNUT AND ORANGE BROWNIES

INGREDIENTS
- Brownie
- 125g dark chocolate
- 100g butter or coconut oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp bi carb soda
- ¾ cup Nuvia Baking
- 1 tbsp orange rind
- ¾ cup plain flour
- ¼ cup cocoa
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2/3 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
- Orange syrup
- Juice of 1 orange
- 1 tsp orange rind
- 2 tbsp Nuvia Sweetener
METHOD
- 1. Preheat the oven to 160C and line a square 8 inch x 8 inch baking tray.
- 2. Place dark chocolate and butter in a heat proof bowl over a saucepan of water of low heat. Allow to melt completely. Remove from heat and whisk in eggs, baking blend and orange rind.
- 3. Then add in plain flour, cocoa and vanilla until just combined. Finally stir walnuts. Pour into prepared baking tin and bake in the oven for 40mins.
- 4. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until all Nuvia sweetener is dissolved and mixture begins to boil.
- 5. Turn heat down to low and allow to simmer for 2-3 min until the syrup begins to thicken. Remove from heat. Once brownies are cooked, pour syrup over the hot brownies.
- 6. Allow to cool completely before cutting.
